As part of one of our lectures we went out and sat on the
steps of Guildhall and looked out across the square. It was an interesting
experience because things that are just ‘everyday’ can be fascinating and
create patterns when watched. Some of the things that I noticed were that
people walk with a different rhythm when listening to music. Also people always
walk more slowly when they are with someone, in contrast to the hurried pace
they take when alone.
Sounds I could hear were:
the train…
small talk…
news…
footsteps…
whispers…
laughter…
loudspeaker…
announcements...
bells ringing...
